Going hiking? Don’t forget to check out the new trail rating system that was just announced. The system, which uses symbols like a black diamond (difficult) to rate the intensity of hikes around Maricopa county, was created to limit the number of accidents and injuries.
According to azcentral.com:
Participating agencies are expected to post the trail ratings soon on their websites. Eventually, signs will be posted at heavily used and more difficult trails that have frequent injuries, such as those trails at Camelback and Piestewa Peak in Phoenix.
The rating system will also be distributed to area-hotels. So, what do you think about the ratings?
