“It is a rough road that leads to the heights of greatness.” — Lucius Annaeus Seneca

The portfolio in our August issue, The Look Straight Ahead, is a celebration of the view through the windshield. That inspired this week’s Friday Fotos theme, “on the road,” and you all delivered. Thank you, as always, for your wonderful submissions. Now get out there and explore some more of Arizona’s roads this weekend!

By submitting photographs to Arizona Highways via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr or other social networking sites, the photographer grants Arizona Highways electronic rights. No financial consideration will be paid to anyone for publication on the Arizona Highways blog or website.

By publishing a photographer’s work to its blog, Arizona Highways does not endorse the photographer’s private business or claim responsibility for any business relationships entered into between the photographer and our readers.

Highway Logo Signs Help Businesses Get Noticed

If you’ve driven Arizona’s rural highways, you’ve probably noticed the blue signs advertising gas, food and lodging locations at each exit. Now, businesses in urban areas can get their logos on signs, too. That work is being done by Grand Canyon State Logo Signs, which is part of the same Arizona Department of Transportation division as Arizona Highways. Here’s a brief news story on the project. If you’d like more information about the program, visit the Grand Canyon State Logo Signs website.
