Our Friday Fotos theme was inspired by the poetry of Alberto Ríos, which we feature in our November issue, on newsstands now. Ríos was recently named Arizona’s first poet laureate, and tonight, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., he will be at the University of Arizona’s Poetry Center to read some of his wonderful works and discuss what this honor means. Attendees will also receive a beautiful print of his new poem, Sudden Smells, Sudden Songs. For more information about this event, call 520-626-3765 or visit http://www.poetry.arizona.edu.

In the meantime, thank you to everyone who shared their beautiful photographs on our Facebook page. Enjoy!
