One of the great things about taking a road trip, is that along the way, you often discover something unexpectedly awesome.
Case in point, Daniel’s Really Good Fresh Jerky in Parker. Admittedly, my Arizona Highways colleague, Managing Editor Kelly Kramer, and I were skeptical—Really Good? That’s a mighty bold statement my friend.
But, being the jerky fanatic that I am—and the fact that Daniel had multiple billboards advertising his Really Good Fresh Jerky—I asked Kelly if we could stop on our way back. She was more than happy to oblige her new co-worker.
Daniel’s Really Good Fresh Jerky is located in a small, brightly colored building on AZ-95, and inside is pure bliss. At least for jerky lovers. Daniel carries almost every kind of jerky imaginable—plus, rows of olives, honey, nuts and some really hot sauce.
Covering an entire wall of his tiny store were dehydrated slabs of elk, venison, buffalo, tuna, salmon, and turkey—even alligator made the cut. His jerky comes in a variety of flavors (Kelly picked up Cowboy flavor), plus a few unusual ones………. those who can handle the heat ought to try Daniel’s Colon Cleaner jerky; slabs of beef covered in a fiery combination of hot spices—not for the faint of heart!
