The Man with the Boots

Paul Bond has been making boots — amazing boots — for more than 70 years.

Today, I interviewed legendary bootmaker Paul Bond in my socks. Minor embarrassment is an occupational hazard, I suppose, especially when you want to try on every pair of boots in the building.

At 94, Mr. Bond is sharper than most people a third of his age, and having worked in the bootmaking industry for more than 70 years, he certainly knows his stuff.
