OK, this wedge-headed snake looks very much like the Western Rattlesnake, found in my area. We will not tolerate these snakes in the vacinity of our home, barn, corrals, and outbuildings. I took out an egg-laden female the first six months we were here on the ranch. We have grandkids and critters. I would not think to take out any snake in the hinterlands of our ranch, but, in an area around where family and animals are, I have no compunction in taking these away from our ranch.
